Step back in time for an intricate sampling of the heritage and culture of St. Kitts, all neatly bundled into this lush picturesque landscape. Passing through the town of Basseterre, the waters of the Caribbean unfold as the tour winds its way along the West Coast to the beautiful Romney Manor, home of Caribelle Batik.
Romney Manor was once the home for descendants of Thomas Jefferson, and is now the home of Caribelle Batik. The vibrant colors and designs on display amid the lush tropical gardens make this an ideal place to pause.
From there, it’s on to the historic Brimstone Hill Fortress, where guests can discover the rich history that gave St. Kitts its name as the Mother Colony of the Caribbean. Situated almost 800 feet above sea level, this remarkable fortress is one of the most dramatic spots in the entire Caribbean, both historically and aesthetically. It commands astounding views of the Caribbean, including Nevis, Montserrat, St Eustatius, Saba, St. Martin and St. Barths.
After Brimstone, guests have the option for a brief stop in Basseterre for shopping if they so wish, before continuing to the hotel.

- Nevis Rum & Plantation Tour -
Depart from the Four Seasons and discover the history of Charlestown. Today, your tour guide will enlighten you with the history behind the Caribbean’s first 5 diamond resort and the historical St. Paul's church. The birthplace of Alexander Hamilton will be one of your stops, where you will have the opportunity to experience the museum which features the history of this iconic Nevisian.
As part of your Charlestown tour, stop at the industrial headquarters of Clifton Estate for a unique rum tasting experience, sampling a selection of local rums with a local rum connoisseur who gives the history of each rum sampled. After the rum tasting each guest will then bottle their very own bottle of Clifton Estate Rum, which involves filling a bottle from the condensing coil, putting on their own stopper and then dipping it in the wax seal.
On then to The Hermitage Plantation. This bijou, eight villa, family run hotel boasts the oldest wooden building in the Caribbean. Enjoy a traditional Rum or Fruit punch at this magical venue!
- Russel's Rest Hike -
Take a moderately challenging hike to Russell’s Rest Nature Trail. Your tour begins at the ruins of the old Russell Plantation in St. James Parish which dates back to the 1650’s. This tour is on the Atlantic side of the island and along the route you’ll see remnants of Nevis’ past sugar history and learn about the sites origin. Walk through an abundance of natural vegetation providing a wide canopy overhead, lush tropical rain forest, enchanting ravines and waterfalls forming the water source in St. James. Also, view the diverse flora and fauna, monkeys, cocoa trees and a variety of fruit trees. Enjoy breath-taking vistas of the Atlantic Ocean. This tour provides a great firsthand exploration into the beautiful, relatively unexplored interior of the island.
- Ocean Kayaking in Nevis -
You are in for an experience to remember, as you explore the scenic coastline of Nevis, with Mount Nevis providing a spectacular backdrop. Kayak along the pristine coast as you row by steep cliffs and remote bays, stopping for snorkeling on virgin reefs. Experience an unforgettable variety of local wildlife - from hawksbill and greenback turtles in their natural environment, to nesting pelicans, cormorants and frigate birds, wild mountain goats and the very shy, green vervet monkeys. There will also be an opportunity to snorkel the breathtaking tropical reefs – all abundantly alive with an amazing variety of marine life and coral formation.
